Blogging – The Retrogression

It seems to me that people are beginning to get dumber and dumber. This is a surprising transformation especially now that we have all this wonderful technology at our disposal. The internet was supposed to set us free and liberalize us but it’s becoming more and more obvious that its set into place an almost regressing trend.

Computers have almost turned us into glorified insects. What we have now are rigid machines of killers of human creativity. The most glaring example of this is the terminal state of existence that literature, true literature, and reading in general finds itself in, in the minds of nonchalant techno-freaks. People don’t write anymore, they ‘blog’. There’s no talking anymore, there’s texting. This use of exaggerated abbreviations and ’emoticons’ is driving me plain insane. There’s no punctuations, no grammar and certainly no expression.

Things have come to the point where it sounds like a bunch of idiotic people kind of pseudo-communicating with another bunch of idiotic people in a language that’s fast beginning to resemble the language of cavemen rather than the advanced means of communication that writers envisioned in the last century.

Yet I’m a part of the problem. Therefore, my self-loathing.
