According to Business Insider’s Jim Edwards, Google Glass could become a Facebook-killer. On Sept. 2, Edwards took a look a piece written by the wife of a New York Times writer who has been using Google Glass. The wife, Emily Nussbaum, wrote a post to explain what it’s like to live with someone who is using the new technology.From her post, Edwards pulled away a simple key point. While Google Glass has many miraculous features and allows users to do things they’ve never done before, the device also automatically uploads images to Google +, which is what Edwards focused on.As we share socially now, most photos end up on Facebook or Instagram as they are both the most visual of social media platforms. However, unless you’re in the Facebook app at the time, there are several steps to uploading a photo to Facebook. Edwards notes that by Glass automatically uploading any photos taken, Google just may be starting a Google + comeback.Of Nussbaum’s account, Edwards finds one particular instance noteworthy.”When he was out, he kept sending me pictures of the kids, but to see them, I had to log in to Google Plus. Look, I’ve been spoiled by digital convenience. Just take a photo on your phone and text me the darn thing.”And instead of taking that as a negative sign, Edwards says that the simplest thing to do would just be to be on G+ and adapt. That’s just what people will end up doing too. Remember all the times Facebook changed and people complained? People will whine and moan, but if it’s giving them the technology they want, they always learn to adapt.Edwards does make a good point that though Glass is a long way off from completely replacing the cellphone, it could definitely take back the realm of photos and how those photos are shared. After all, the only thing really holding people back from Google + is that Facebook already offers them everything they need, including the people.
