LG gets back into the tablet race

In 2011 the South Korean-based LG put their tablet production on hiatus and focus on smartphones were they rank behind only Apple and Samsung. With the growth in the small tablet market they decided that it was time to finally jump back into the pool with a big splash. They are betting on the G Pad 8.3 to make that big splash and challenge both Apple and Amazon in the high-resolution market.LG’s hope is that since Apple has reportedly been have problems with increasing the resolution on their iPad Mini to the “retina” display it left an opening for their high-resolution tablet. Whether or this is a good bet will be seen when the South Korean-based company releases their tablet later this year during the holiday shopping season. While we wait until then let’s see how this tablet will stack up against its two biggest competitors:G Pad 8.3”Ipad Mini 7.9”Kindle Fire 7”Kindle Fire 8.9”Price$510.00$329.00$229.00$379.00Resolution1920x12001024x7681920x12002560x1600Sharpness273 ppi162 ppi323ppi339 ppiFront Camera5 mp5 mp1 mp1 mpRear Camera1.3 mp1.2 mpnone8 mpWirelessWifi 3G802.11n802.11nWifI 3GMemory2 GB512 MB2 GB2 GBStorage16 GB16 GB16 GB16 GBOperating SystemAndroid 4.2.2IOS 6Fire 3.0Fire 3.0Processor Speed1.7 GHz1.9 GHz2.2 GHz2.2GHzFor more on the new LG tablet try the following articles:http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lg-launches-sharper-display-tablet-045521132.htmlhttp://ibnlive.in.com/news/lg-g-pad-83-launched-features-better-display-than-apples-ipad-mini/426883-11.htmlhttp://www.reuters.com/article/2013/10/07/lg-tablet-idUSL4N0HX0GG20131007http://www.slashgear.com/lg-g-pad-8-3-launch-tipped-for-october-14-in-korea-07300415/
